The Brief
Three unrelated apps, four wall keypads that all did different things, and shades that never quite closed at sunset. The owners wanted "one button for morning, one for movie, one for goodnight" — and to never think about tech again.
The Build
Control4 as the single brain
We replaced two smaller controllers and one legacy Loxone panel with a Control4 EA-5, then re-mapped every switch and dimmer to KNX drivers so the existing wiring stayed in place. No walls opened.
22 zones of tunable-white lighting
Every ceiling fixture re-lamped to DALI-2 tunable-white. Sunrise scenes at 3000K, evening scenes at 2200K, and a "movie" scene that drops the majlis to 4% behind the sofa.
Weather-aware shading and pool
Shades close automatically when solar gain crosses a threshold on the terrace side. Pool heater ramps down when the local forecast says the next day will hit 41°C.
Voice, phone and wall — all equal
Alexa, iPhone Home app, and eight Control4 T4 wall panels all speak to the same system. Say it, tap it, or press the physical scene — it works the same way.
