Emirates Hills Surveillance

The previous system had cameras but no coverage of the pedestrian gate, the pool deck or the service alley. We rebuilt around a proper threat model — with the owner walking the plot with us at dusk to agree exactly what needed to be seen.

The Brief

A recent perimeter incident on the neighbouring plot pushed this project up the list. The owner wanted plate-readable footage at the main gate and no blind spots on the north wall.

The Build

Threat-model-led camera plan

We surveyed the plot at dusk and dawn, marked every angle with sightline tape, and agreed 20 camera positions — not the 34 the previous integrator had quoted.

Plate-readable main gate

Two 4K bullet cameras at 12mm and 24mm cover the arrival lane. One is dedicated to plate capture with WDR and IR cut-off tuning.

Discreet interior coverage

Eight micro-dome cameras in the interior — colour-matched to the ceiling finish so they read as smoke detectors from any normal viewing angle.

30-day retention, off-site backup

NVR sized for 30 days of 24/7 4K recording, with encrypted incremental backup to a second NAS in the service room.

The Outcome

  • Every square metre of the plot boundary is covered — verified with a walk-test after commissioning.
  • Two follow-up incidents on adjacent plots were resolved with footage from this system.
  • Owner uses the mobile app twice a week on average — the rest of the time it just works.
