The Brief
A previous card system had been cloned by a former employee. Ownership wanted biometric access, a live audit trail, and a way to lock down the building instantly if needed.
The Build
Suprema face + finger + card
Twelve BioStation 3 readers deployed. Users can enrol face, fingerprint, card or all three — and the reader accepts whichever they present.
Active Directory sync
New hires enrol from an HR spreadsheet. Terminated users are revoked automatically within 60 seconds of AD removal — no more forgotten cards.
Lockdown button + fire interlock
A physical lockdown key at reception drops every non-fire-exit lock. All access hardware fails-safe on fire alarm, per Civil Defence requirements.
The Outcome
- Onboarding a new hire: 90 seconds including photo capture.
- Zero credential-cloning incidents since deployment.
