Cat 6A everywhere, with headroom
Our default specification is Cat 6A shielded to every likely endpoint plus two spares per room, all terminated in a single central rack with keystone patch panels. It is generous — deliberately so. Adding a run later means chasing plaster; adding a device to a spare port takes ninety seconds.
Fibre where the copper stops
On larger estates the backbone is fibre, connecting the main rack to satellite closets in outbuildings, guest villas, and gate houses. The client never sees the difference; the network engineer never has to argue with distance limits.
